Introduction

Greetings web page vistor.  Welcome to the site of the Kern Valley Interagency Hotshot Crew.  This web site has been created to provide information about the crew’s program, people and culture.  The information is provided primarily for the job seeker and anyone with an interest in the crew and its work.  So, if you are looking for a position on the crew, all the information is here and will be updated as needed.  The application process continues to be a complicated one, but with a little diligence anyone should be able to get through it.  Please read through the various sections of the web page and determine if the crew seems like a place where you will get along and excell or not.  Your having suitability with the program is just as crucial to your success as anything else.  Deadline for First Consideration Applications ends January 17, 2008

Now, if you’re an old dude who has arrived here to see what the crew has been up to we will be updating and beefing up the historical content.  We are implementing the 25 year reunion plan right now, looking for people, images and any historical documentation.  The event is scheduled for March 8, 2008 in Bakersfield.  Infomation is provided on the KV25 link, check it out and make plans to attend.  The reunion is designed for the whole family, including the KV historical multi-media kiosk, the KV Reggae, Rock and Blues All-Stars Review Band, exclusive KV25 merchandise and BBQed meat.
